About Carla

I recognized my passion - Massage - in 2007 which began (at the age of 52) a new journey for me.  My education was at Great Lakes Institute of Techonology in the Massage Therapy program that required a leap of faith in quitting my full time employment and attending school full time for the next 9 months.  Achieving senior status working the student clinic and gaining more experience I was offered a part time position at a local day spa and so the journey continued.  In March of 2008 after graduation I was able to open my own practice "Carla Edmiston Massage Therapy".

Today I am a business owner of 13 years. My practice has grown by volunteering at MS events, chair massage at local Curves fitness center, charity fund raising for our local food bank and the best advertising any one business could get, Word of Mouth from my clients.  I also belong to and am a board member for (PA local chapter)  the oldest and most respected professional organizations in the massage therapy field - American Massage Therapy Association.

I have worked with many to gain and maintain a healthful mind, body, and spirit, as well as, network(ed) with colleagues through social media and/or face to face meetings.   

My tag line "Essential Touch for Your Health and Well-being" is something I truly believe and keep myself always striving to upgrade my skills.

Therapeutic massage takes on many forms: Swedish massage, trigger point, neuromuscular, myofascial, etc. I work with the body's needs so each session will be a little different from your last.
